Sorry for the Hiatus

So it has been entirely too long since I have cooked or baked a tasty treat and shared it with you all.
This is for good reason, I promise.
My time has been swallowed up with the chaos that is wedding planning. I am officially Mrs. Carter <3
Since I have nothing cooking related to post I will show you all some of our wedding/honeymoon pics which of course have food ๐Ÿ™‚

Gotta have at least one cheesy lovey pic <3

Okay, so first of all we had our wedding ceremony aboard a Carnival Cruise ship which is pretty awesome on its own. Anyone invited to the wedding was able to get on the ship in the morning with us before normal guests could board. Our ceremony was held in one of the event rooms on board and our reception was held in the cruise ships night club ๐Ÿ™‚ย  After the reception we said our goodbyes to family and friends who would not be joining us and then we were immediately in honeymoon/vacay with 28 of our closest friends mode. It was a blast and we are already planning to have an anniversary cruise next year!

Instead of a sit down dinner or full buffet we opted for a hot and cold hors d’oeuvres buffet. Everyone really seemed to enjoy it and it was more than enough food!

We had a three tiered vanilla cake. All three were vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream icing. The top and bottom tier had strawberry filling and the middle was lemon filled ๐Ÿ™‚

On board there are tons of places to eat! There is a 24-hour pizza/cal zone bar, a buffet nearly every moment of the day, a sandwich/panini spot, you can have a fancy sit down breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday and don’t forget unlimited room service any time a day at no additional cost. You eat A LOT! One of my favorite activities on board was tea time ๐Ÿ™‚ I love tea and what goes better with tea then treats? A man would come around with a cart of delicious delicacies and you would just tell him which you wanted or in my case… one of each. I can’t help but feel like Harry Potter riding the Hogwarts Express picking from the candy cart when this guy came around. Nerdy, I know ๐Ÿ™‚

Sit down dinners on any cruise I have been on are simply amazing. The staff is so helpful and fun, the food is great, and most importantly you can have as much as you would like. I love that I get to try new food I typically wouldn’t because if I don’t like it I will just get something else. If I do like it I can have as many as I want ๐Ÿ™‚ This pic isn’t great but it’s of one of the sushi appetizers we had on board.

In Cozumel we found an awesome restaurant called Coconuts on the beach about 20 minutes from port. The food was pretty amazing. We had the best fajitas and nachos I have ever had. The meat was tender and seasoned to perfection, the cheese was freaking fantastic I need whatever that was, top it off with a little fresh guacamole and YUM!!

Now that the honeymoon is over and we are back to reality I am working on a new cookie post for you.
In the meantime if you are planning a vacation and not sure what to do, TAKE A CRUISE! It is AWESOME and a foodies fantasy land.
